On the flightpath with The EA at Woodmill
Recently I was contacted by the Environment Agency to get involved in a project taking place in conjunction with Southampton City Council at Woodmill and neighbouring Riverside Park in Southampton. They wanted a mixture of landscapes and reference shots.
Anyone who knows the area will know that woodmill is literally in front of the main approach to Southampton International Airport and as such would make this a tricky job indeed. Especially as some of the shots needed would need to be taken at around 110m which would put us directly in the approach.
After we had gained the necessary clearances for filming in the area and been in touch with N.A.T.S at the airport to inform them of our plans the day finally came to get it done.
On arriving I contacted the control tower at the airport and got any information that was necessary on the day for our operations. They were extremely helpful and did a fantastic job of keeping us out of the way of the big stuff due to arrive and depart.
The whole project went extremely smoothly and the EA were very happy with the shots we got for them.
All in all a very productive and rewarding day.
